Cameras
I wish my eyes
were cameras
and each blink
the staccato
slap
of the shutter
closing.
I wish my stare
recorded motion
and the silent
stirring of
life.
When they close
all I captured
would stream
across the
red screen
of my eyelids
and light up
the dark.
